THe H-D Museum is located in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley, just south of the downtown area, and slightly east of the Potawotami Bingo Casino.

With Milwaukee undergoing the multi-year reconstruction of the Marquette (freeway) Interchange, getting to the Museum from the north is somewhat complicated. If you take I-43, you need to actually go all the way south to the Mitchell Street exit, and then take a twisting path back north through the eastern part of the Walkers Point neighborhood. The route is well supplied with helpful signs pointing the way, although you will have to make a left turn on National Avenue onto Sixth Street. As National is often busy, and they don’t provide a left-turn arrow – you may have to wait through a couple of lights to get there. Admire the neighborhood.

Once on sixth Street, you’ll next have to negotiate one of Wisconsin’s very few traffic circles before getting onto the Cable-Stayed Sixth Street Viaduct.

Before you actually cross the river, however, you will see the Museum off to your right.
